Globally, governments are searching for ways to improve equity, efficiency, effectiveness and responsiveness of their health systems. It aims to derive optimum structures, content, and ways to deliver cost-effective services to achieve health gains for the population. Primary Health care is the foundation of any health care initiative as it is easy to organize, is less capital intensive & socially acceptable. It forms the first point of contact between individual & national health care system. It brings health care delivery close to where people live & work & minimizes avoidable interventions. It also helps in proper referral of sick, optimum utilization of secondary & tertiary care services.
The Trust is of the opinion that Primary Health Care is a fundamental right of every citizen of India. However, in view of resource constraints, the citizens are often denied this right. The Trust with its low cost and mobile solution is able to provide Primary Health Care Services, which are qualitative and useful to needy target population.
The Trust is active in providing Mobile Primary Health Care aimed at providing basic health care facilities to slum clusters & rural area in and around Vadodara City. The Trust has a Mobile Primary Health Care Van, donated by the Tyrell Leith Lodge, Vadodara, which visits various Slum Areas & Villages in & around Vadodara City. The Mobile Primary Health Care Van is accompanied by a qualified doctor and medical assistant. Patients are provided consultation & necessary medicines. The services are well appreciated by the recipients.
All these services are provided by the trust at a nominal charge of Rs. 10/- per patient. These charges are often waived in case of needy and poor patients. The purpose of collecting such nominal charge is only to ensure that the patients put a value to the services and medicines provided and do not put them to frivolous use as the same are free.
