“Dardi Sahayak”, the words in Gujarati connote “helpful to patient” and that is precisely the motto of this trust based in Vadodara.

Dardi Sahayak Trust is largely the result of the untiring efforts Late Shri Suresh Shah, who after retiring as an industrialist diverted his boundless energy towards paying his dues to the Society. Shri Suresh Shah envisioned an organization, which would fulfill the function of providing medical and financial support to needy patients. The Trust started its activities in 1994.

He was supported in his endeavor by many people within & outside India

The Trust was formed in 1994. It was envisaged providing broad based social services to the marginalized section of the society.

Some of the major activities carried out by the Trust are :

  • Primary Health Care
  • Financial assistance for Medical Treatment
  • Education support activities
  • Support for distressed people

The Trust activities are planned as per availability of funds. The Trust does not maintain a large corpus of financial backup, hence some activities vary from year to year. Most of the major initiatives are ongoing projects as the Trust has dedicated donor support for them. Some of the activities are supported by other NGOs in Vadodara area. The Trust’s services are not limited to the broad sections outlined above, but are expandable as per available resources & identified social needs.

The Trust is managed by a team of selfless citizens who provide their Honorary services to achieve Trust’s objectives.

The Board of Trustees of the Trust is currently constituted as under:

  • Shri Kantibhai Thakkar (Managing Trustee)
    • He is a businessman having interests in the Construction and Financing. He is also a prolific social worker and is a trustee on board of several Charitable Trusts.
  • Smt. Parimala Parikh (Trustee)
    • She has a Masters in Science & is a qualified Naturopath, having expertise in alternative medicines.  She is also an active Social Worker.
  • Shri Vivek Suresh Shah (Trustee)
    • He is an active social worker, carrying ahead the glorious legacy of his father, Shri Suresh Shah, who was the founder trustee of Dardi Sahayak Trust.
  • Dr. Ashit Vyas (Medical Practitioner)
    • He is a Family Physician & Holistic Health Counselor, having been in medical practice for past 40 years.

The Trust is registered with the Charity Commissioner, Vadodara under the Bombay Public Trusts Act under the Registration No. E-4822. The Trust is also registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act. The Trust also has requisite registration under Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act, whereby donations made to the trust eligible for deduction u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act.
